We might be getting a remake of the first Assassin's Creed next year

A recent leak from a trusted source hints at the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise, which might include a remake of the game that started it all.

It's crazy to think that the first Assassin's Creed game came out in 2007. A lot has changed since then, and the original eponymous title hasn't exactly kept it up. Whereas it used to feel like a game-changing project when it first came out, the 2007 title looks worse for the wear these days. Thankfully, Ubisoft is looking to change that.

As per French YouTuber, j0nathan, Ubisoft will include a remake of Assassin's Creed as part of the Season Pass of the next Assassin's Creed game.

J0nathan adds that Ubisoft is going to "unveil the future of Assassin's Creed on September 10 during Ubisoft Forward."

j0nathan is a legitimate source of Assassin's Creed information. They're the ones who leaked all the info about the Year 2 DLC for Assassin's Creed way before Ubisoft confirmed it. So, outside of an official announcement from Ubisoft, j0nathan is as legitimate as it gets.

Thankfully, we'll find out more about what's next for Assassin's Creed soon enough.

If we're being honest, we're doubtful that Ubisoft will relegate a full-on remake of Assassin's Creed into DLC territory.

Ubisoft confirmed at the franchise's 15th-year anniversary event that more info about the stealth-action RPG franchise is coming next month. We're hoping that this includes corroboratory info about Project Red, which is reportedly an Assassin's Creed game set in Japan.
