Far Cry 6 has a lot riding on it. After a largely lackluster fifth mainline installment and an even worse spin-off, Far Cry 6 is an opportunity for Ubisoft to redeem the franchise.
So far, everything we've seen about Far Cry 6 looks like it will be more like Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 than Far Cry 5. Unfortunately, because it was delayed from its initial February 2021 release date, we'll have to wait a while to see if Far Cry 6 is a good game or not. If it's any consolation, Ubisoft has started revealing more about Far Cry 6 since the delay earlier this year.
Below, we've rounded up all the important information about Far Cry 6, from its release date to a trailer, important gameplay details, and more. When is the Far Cry 6 Release Date? Far Cry 6 joined the long list of delayed and postponed games of 2021 earlier in February. Ubisoft blamed the delay on the COVID-19 pandemic. A few months later in May 2021, Ubisoft revealed that Far Cry 6 will be releasing on October 7, 2021, along with a gameplay reveal. Is There a Far Cry 6 Trailer Available? We only have two Far Cry 6 trailers go on so far, but the quality of what was revealed so far has been impressive.
The first trailer was a great introduction to the world of Yara, which was reportedly inspired by modern-day Cuba, and the dictator, Anton Castillo, who will be played by none other than Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
