Just in case you've missed it, pre-orders for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 have gone live, as promised.

Unfortunately, while Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is expected to play smoothly on Sony's flagship console in October, the pre-order process is anything but.

In particular, fans are complaining about the cumbersome and exclusive means of getting your hands on the game's most expensive variant.

At $230, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Collector's Edition isn't cheap. But, for the price, you do get a whole lot of goodies like a 19-inch statue of a humongous Venom fending off the game's protagonists, Peter and Miles. It comes with an exclusive steel book case as well as a Digital Deluxe Edition copy of the game.

In an ideal scenario, people would be complaining about the lack of a physical disc and how you'll have to download the entire game from scratch ahead of its release.

However, just as Sony opened its digital doors to welcome the onslaught of pre-orders, fans have taken to social media platforms to express their frustration with Sony's poor handling of the preorders.
