Eric Bischoff not a fan of Conor McGregor vs Roman Reigns in WWE

Here's what the WWE Hall of Famer had to say about the potential matchup: I can't see that, I just can't. I can certainly see Conor McGregor in WWE. That's very easy to visualize. Do you really think WWE would, for lack of a better term, prostitute Roman Reigns and a championship for an attraction match?

Unless Conor were to really learn how to wrestle so that he could go in there and have a — not just an acceptable match, but a great match with Roman. I think the audience will just gag all over it. And, Bischoff's right. The former Senior Vice President of the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling, which, was at a point in time, a legitimate rival to the World Wrestling Federation, knows the wrestling world all too well.

While the WWE isn't above "prostituting" its biggest belts for an attraction match, they have to make sense both outside as well as inside the ring. Case in point, Logan Paul was pretty much just an attraction last year when he was gifted a title shot against Roman Reigns at the Crown Jewel. Although the success of the match had plenty to do with Reigns' willingness to take a bump for Paul, The Maverick also proved his worth with his performance.

Unless McGregor really puts in the effort to translate his mic skills to the mat and learn how to wrestle for the WWE, it's hard to see a good match happening between the two.

Of course, just because Bischoff thinks it shouldn't happen, doesn't mean it won't. Both Reigns and McGregor have massive fan followings that could lead to a major spectacle should a match ever happen.

If the WWE prioritizes short-term gains over long-term credibility, a match between Reigns and McGregor wouldn't be the worst idea.

For now, wrestling fans will just have to wait and see what the WWE has planned for Roman Reigns. It's believed The Tribal Chief is part of the top management's vision for longer-term championships to update the record books. If this is true, then the WWE has plenty of chances to make the matchup between Reigns and McGregor happen.
