Is UFC megastar, Conor McGregor, going to be at WrestleMania 39? You'd be forgiven for believing so after his recent interaction with MMA reporter, Arien Halwani.
Helwani recently tweeted a photo of himself with McGregor holding a Money in the Bank briefcase with the caption, "Next stop ... 'Mania?" WWE then fueled the rumors by retweeting the post with the eyes emoji as the caption.
Paul Heyman also butted in, telling McGregor that he'd "get SMASHED" if he dared to "oppose" Roman Reigns.
At 34 years old, McGregor has achieved the dream life of any fighter. With a 22-6 professional record, highlighted by 19 knockout wins, very few are brave enough to mess with McGregor. He's parlayed his fighting talents en route to becoming a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion. More importantly, McGregor remains one of the biggest draws in sports entertainment even after "retiring" from MMA following an injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
The Irishman has made it clear several times that he wants to return to the UFC, but he's also a businessman.
If the money makes sense, there's no reason why he wouldn't want to partake in his fair share of wrestling matches in the WWE.
The WWE has seen several former MMA stars succeed inside the squared circle. Ronda Rousey, for example, continues to carve out her post-MMA career in the WWE. McGregor might even have a more successful WWE career than every MMA fighter that came before him given his personality. But, we're reaching if we said that McGregor will fight at WrestleMania 39, which takes place at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 1 and 2.
The WWE reserves its best celebrity involvements for its biggest show. With only weeks to go before the Showcase of the Immortals, it wouldn't surprise us if McGregor has a role on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Conor McGregor will star with Jake Gyllenhaal in the Road House Remake, which will serve as his acting debut.
