EA Motive's recent Dead Space remake was a faithful recreation of a sci-fi horror classic that ultimately paved the way for future remakes of the series' other entries, both literally and figuratively. Following its commercial and critical success, EA is already thinking of remaking the rest of the franchise.
Game developer Dillon Rogers shared on Twitter that he received a survey from EA gauging his interest about a "similar remake" of Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3.
The original Dead Space trilogy concluded in 2013, right around the same time that EA went all-in on microtransactions in its games. Dead Space 3, in particular, didn't sell very well, further reinforcing EA's beliefs about the "death" of single-player titles. However, now that the market has proven EA and other publishers wrong, the path is clear for remakes of Dead Space 2 and 3.
What made EA Motive's remake of the first Dead Space game so successful is it expanded on the content of the original game. The secret ending, specifically, helps connect the first game better to a potential sequel.
