James Gunn and Peter Safran haven't been afraid to hit the ground running. Shortly after assuming control of DC Studios, a reboot of the DCEU franchise was immediately put into effect as the duo revealed plans to roll out a bevy of new projects that had superhero fans salivating.
One of those projects, The Brave and the Bold, will introduce the duo's version of Batman and his trusty sidekick Robin and, according to a new report, will be directed by Andy Muschietti. If this report turns out to be true, the Argentinean will be the third director in the Gunn and Safran DCU era after Gunn who will direct Superman: Legacy, and James Mangold who will direct Swamp Thing.
Muschietti beats the Russo brothers, two of the most successful film directors of all time, to the role, which they hadexpressed an interest in back in April.
If Muschietti rings a bell, that is because he directed the horror thrillers It and It: Chapter Two, as well as the forthcoming DC film The Flash.
While One Take News was the first to reveal this, the industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello has since said the same thing and backed up the publication's report.
