DCU reportedly hires The Flash director and screenwriter for new Batman movie

They did not stop there – the industry insider told us that Christina Hodson, who penned Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey and The Flash, is also on board the Batmobile and will pen the film's screenplay.

While Muschietti's The Flash hasn't arrived in theaters yet, expectations for it are some of the highest of any DC movie in the past decade.

Many consider the Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan to be one of the greatest superhero films ever. So, when a film is rated almost as high as that trilogy, you should definitely pay attention.

If that's not enough, Warner Bros. Discovery screened the film for a few lucky journalists and theater owners at this year's CinemaCon, where it was welcomed with applause.

The film has also gotten the approval of industry heavyweights like Tom Cruise, who loved it so much that he picked up his phone and called Muschietti to praise his work, and Henry Cavill, who thought highly of Sasha Calle's take on Supergirl.

By the way, Gunn and Safran have assured fans of the Robert Pattinson-led Batman films of its continuity. However, both of the films, alongside other potential spin-offs, will exist independently under the "DC Elseworlds" banner.

The Brave and the Bold is still in the earliest stages of development and, as far as we know, hasn't hired any cast members. The film also doesn't have a release date yet. If and when that changes, you can be sure we will tell you about it.

The Flash will breeze into theaters on June 16.
