The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is one of the worst AAA games to come out in recent years. Yet, Daedalic Entertainment will be pushing forward into a second attempt into J.R.R. Tolkien's storied universe.
The German-based game developer made the big leap and worked on a game outside of its comfort zone with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. For that, the studio deserves props. But, what was supposed to be a significant milestone for Daedalic has since turned into the laughing stock of the internet at the moment and the nth example of studios thinking that they can get away with subpar products.
Gollum continues to rake up poor reviews due to poor writing, lackluster gameplay, and a litany of technical issues enough to make Sauron give up in his bid to try and take over Middle-Earth.
In response to these issues, Daedalic released a public statement apologizing for the game's subpar state. The studio wants fans to know that it will address what's wrong with Gollum.
But, how do you fix a game that's innately broken?
