With an all-time peak of 1.054 million players, Cyberpunk 2077 set the Steam record for the most number of players for single-player games on Steam nearly two years ago. It was later supplanted by Lost Ark (1.325 million) but it remains in second place.
No one expects Cyberpunk 2077 to reach those levels again, but we can't exactly rule out the possibility now that Cyberpunk 2077 is closer to launch levels of popularity than ever before, after hitting six digits in concurrent players over the past 24 hours.
According to SteamDB, Cyberpunk 2077 has seen over 100,000 players in the past 24 hours with a 24-hour peak of 122,376. This represents a significant increase from the game's player count in previous months.
Cyberpunk 2077 is benefitting from the perfect storm. After CD Projekt RED debuted the 1.6 patch, Steam slashed half off the price of the game. A few weeks later, Netflix came out with the game's anime prequel, Edgerunners.
