Chris Hemsworth is taking a step back from Hollywood and acting, in general, after finding out that he's predisposed to Alzheimer's disease.

Earlier this week, the Australian actor revealed that several genetic tests he took while working on the docuseries, Limitless, confirmed he has a higher likelihood of the debilitating disease compared to the average person.

Hemsworth explained to Vanity Fair that this doesn't mean he's handing in his resignation. The revelation apparently "triggered" him to "take some time off" and he's still finishing out the things he's "contracted to do".

In the same interview, one of the MCU's longest-tenured stars had also discussed his grandfather's ongoing fight with Alzheimer's.

Marvel fans don't have to worry too much. Hemsworth is still open to returning to play Thor in the future after he spends some time with his family in Australia.
