The live-action adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima was first announced two years ago after the success of the Sucker Punch Productions title and we've had few updates about it since. This is why the latest update straight from the film's director stings a bit.

In an interview with Total Film, director Chad Stahelski revealed that Ghost of Tsushima is his favorite among his upcoming projects. While the film's script has already been finished, the project may not be ready for filming as business matters must be sorted out first.

"[Ghost of Tsushima] would be my favorite to do next. Without going into crazy detail, it's something I'm super interested in," Stahelski shared with Total Film. "We have a really great script. We have a really good creative team behind it."

The director adds, "It's just about getting all the business end of things locked in. It's kind of in that little bit of flux where everybody is trying to tighten up the deal to get everything going, and to make sure we do the best with it. It's a simple thing: getting a great script, and starting to put together a cast. It just takes a lot of moving parts."
