Fresh off the heels of the largest controversy Call of Duty: Warzone has encountered to date in its relatively short lifespan, Activision and Infinity Ward made yet another decision which, in light of recent events, was guaranteed to disappoint players.
Mere days after Trios was added back to Warzone, the original Battle Royale mode was switched to Shotguns and Snipers only.
We have known that a Shotguns and Snipers mode would be coming for a while. It was mentioned in the Season 3 leak and then teased by Activision when Season 3 actually launched. However, just like in the case of Quads, players assumed it would be an additional playlist people can choose to play.

Also like in the case of Quads, it ended up replacing the main and most popular Trios mode. Now you can only play Trios with the Shotguns and Snipers ruleset, locking out all other weapon types. Once again, the mode with which Warzone launched a couple of weeks ago isn't available.
Why Infinity Ward would pull this move literally days after the entire playerbase went into a meltdown over the same problem is beyond us. It was pretty obvious the outcome would be the same. The dedicated Warzone subreddit looks much the same as it did when Quads entirely replaced Trios not too long ago, with thread after thread criticizing the move.
