has apparently been leaked online. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted the pricing for Modern Warfare 3 on the Australian Steam storefront.
Twitter user @EvanFox45525643 first reported the leaked pricing. It appears that the upcoming title will cost $54.95 Australian Dollars on Steam, which roughly converts to $36 USD. This means Modern Warfare 3 may cost around $35 - $40 in the US when it releases in November.

It is worth noting that this information should be taken with a grain of salt. While the report provided video evidence of the leaked pricing, it may have been a placeholder or an error on the part of Steam. We also cannot rule out that the video could have been faked.
However, the leaked pricing does corroborate an earlier rumor that suggests Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was
for Modern Warfare 2. Supposedly, Activision eventually decided to scale up the expansion to a full premium release title which is now Modern Warfare 3.
It is likely that Activision is pricing the game lower than most premium releases due to its similarity to the current title. Having started out as an expansion likely means that most of the gameplay mechanics would stay the same and Activision would price it a bit lower to attract more players.
Modern Warfare 3 does feel like an expansion of sorts as Activision recently announced that content from Modern Warfare 2
. Players can bring operators, weapon blueprints, camos, and other cosmetic items to the upcoming title.
Many players also see the upcoming game as a
from Modern Warfare 2. The rumored price would be very attractive for players who are invested in the story of the single-player campaign.
However, that price, if correct, is actually quite low given that it would be a full premium release. A price point of $35-$40 would not be far from the seasonal BlackCell bundle that Activision is selling to players for the current game. We will likely get more information about Modern Warfare 3 this week. Activision has already announced that a full-fledged reveal is scheduled for August 17.
