PEGI has rated Gearbox Software's Borderlands 3 for the Nintendo Switch despite the lack of any official info that a Switch port of the game is coming. The European video game content rating system published the rating on its website for a brief period. It also provided ratings for all of the game's existing content, including the base game and DLCs. The rating was shortly removed but not before it set off speculations that Borderlands 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch console.
This isn't the first time PEGI rated a Switch version of Borderlands 3. PEGI provided a Switch rating for Borderlands 3: Director's Cut in 2021. However, it later announced the rating was an error and it was removed. Now, a year and a half later, the organization has provided a fresh rating, which appears genuine especially since it covers every edition of the title.
The rating covered the base title Borderlands 3, Borderlands 3: Director's Cut, and Borderlands 3: Designer's Cut. It also included Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the fantastic Fustercluck, Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood, Borderlands 3: Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, and Borderlands 3: Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot.
However, 2K Games hasn't confirmed the report and without the publisher's official confirmation, there is no way to say for certain whether the title will release for the Switch console. Fans also wonder whether, if the report is true, the title will be available physically, as a download, or as a Cloud-only version, like Kingdom Hearts and Hitman 3.
