Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford recently stated, at the latest Annual General Meeting of Embracer Group, its parent company, that it is working on turning Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands into a new franchise.

Here's an excerpt of what Pitchford shared with the company's shareholders:
Gearbox Software achieved a major victory this past year with the launch of the new franchise Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Wonderlands shattered all of our target expectations, both critically and commercially, and I'm thrilled that, in addition to great financial rewards from this victory that will be coming our way in the coming quarters, we have established a firm beachhead. We now clearly have a new franchise on our hands, with future experiences already under development at Gearbox.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a spin-off in the popular Borderlands series and is set after the events of Borderlands 2 DLC, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. The game was released in March 2022 and was well received by many critics and fans.
While Pitchford’s comment doesn’t explicitly state what to expect, we believe it's reasonable to expect Wonderlands to get a sequel sometime in the future, since it's tagged as a franchise. Any upcoming Wonderlands content, whether a DLC or sequel, would be in the very early stages of development right now.
Gearbox Software and Lionsgate are currently working together on a live-action adaptation of Borderlands. The movie features an ensemble cast featuring Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Heart, and Edgar Ramirez.
