Bloober Team has revealed that it's working on a live-action TV adaptation of The Medium. The Polish video game studio announced it has partnered with Platige Image to bring the game to television.
In a statement posted to Bloober Team's official website and translated to English with the help of Google Translate, the studio's founder, Piotr Babieno stated the following: Both the film industry and the video game industry are close to my heart and I am very happy that there is finally an opportunity to bring them both together. The story we told in the game was appreciated by players, and now more people will be able to hear about it. The latest hits of streaming platforms based on games such as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or Arcane have shown that this is the perfect time for such productions. Babieno also mentioned that the project does not have a clear home yet. However, the two video game adaptations he gave in support of why his company is pursuing the project are Netflix projects.
Tomasz Bagiński, who served as Executive Producer on Netflix's The Witcher series, will lead the development of The Medium TV series adaptation. Netflix has close ties to the Polish entertainment industry. It's not far-fetched to believe that The Medium will find a home in Netflix.
