Blizzard Entertainment is best known for three things: WarCraft, StarCraft, and Diablo. Collectively, these franchises have sold hundreds of millions of units over the years and are largely what makes up Blizzard's massive multi-billion dollar net worth. However, Blizzard is not just a one-trick pony, as proven when the company officially announced Overwatch in 2014 and released the game in 2016, to much critical acclaim.

Fast forward to 2022 and the beloved video game publisher just confirmed that it's set to add an entirely new franchise to its portfolio.

According to an official blog post, Blizzard is working on a new intellectual property. However, unlike with Overwatch, the latest announcement from the makers of StarCraft did not come with much fanfare. Instead, all Blizzard did was give audiences a small glimpse into the new universe that the studio plans on creating. But, upon further digging, we found a recruitment post on Blizzard's website describing its upcoming new game as a survival game for PC and consoles.

While this is undoubtedly good news, fans probably shouldn't expect Blizzard to release this new game anytime soon. The studio still has several other sequels on the docket, such as Diablo IV, Diablo Immortal, and Overwatch 2.
