Blizzard puts serious stakes on Diablo 4 Hardcore race

Unfortunately, gamers are up in arms that the race is unfair to players who had little knowledge about Diablo 4 before the game's launch.

Blizzard Entertainment's recent contest announcement all but guarantees that more players will place orders for the more expensive versions of Diablo 4 to get early access.

A challenge of might, courage, and strategy lies ahead for fans of Diablo 4.

Blizzard Entertainment, the creators of Diablo 4, has announced a contest for the more competitive players of the game.

As per the official tweet, the first 1,000 players to hit level 100 in Diablo 4’s most difficult mode, Hardcore Mode, will win a reward. The task, while it might sound simple enough, is far from easy. To get to level 100 is an achievement in and of itself in Diablo 4. But, the said mode is no joke; if you die even once, your character is gone – forever!

Interested players who want to take part must mark their win by tagging the official Diablo account (@Diablo) on Twitter by #Diablo4Hardcore.

Don’t forget, this isn’t just for bragging rights. The first 1,000 successful characters get a truly epic prize.

What’s the reward, you ask? Each winner will earn the “Tempered Champion” title inside the game. In addition, Blizzard will engrave their BattleTag into a physical statue although Blizzard didn’t specify what kind of statue it will be or how large it is (please be of Lilith!).

This unique trophy and distinction will serve as a monument to the prowess of each of the one thousand players.

Of course, there are rules to this competition. You’ll have to be over 18 to take part. Plus, Blizzard reserves the right to void entries with offensive BattleTags.

Diablo 4 is getting the right kind of push from Blizzard.

The kicks off on June 1, so you’ll need to get early access to Diablo 4 to get a shot at this accomplishment. The contest isn’t ending until September 1 or until 1,000 gamers have successfully claimed the price – whichever comes first.

Popular personalities, reviewers, critics, and hardcore Diablo 4 fans are already waiting eagerly for the challenge, setting up their alarms for the pre-load times and the early access launch of the game.

Of course, as with anything that Blizzard or any studio does these days, it comes with its fair share of critics. While this is no cakewalk by any means, those who’ve had multiple chances to try out Diablo 4 over the past 2-3 years have a significant leg up over the competition. Thus, some are crying fowl that this isn’t fair to long-time Diablo 4 fans who don’t, for the lack of a better phrase, play video games for a living.

Blizzard later wisened up and changed the results so that those who reviewed Diablo 4 can’t join. Speaking of, the second review embargo lifts on June 2.

Most believe that the statue will be of Lilith but we shouldn’t discount the possibility that it will be of the titular villain.

So, are you ready to cheat death and claim victory? Gear up, research the best Diablo 4 builds, get acquainted with the in-game lore, and learn the Diablo 4 skill tree like the back of your hand.

And, remember, this isn’t just about the journey; the destination has a statue with your name on it!
