One of 2019's biggest surprise hits was A Plague Tale: Innocence. The narrative-driven action title by Asobo Studio featured a heart-wrenching story paired with excellent gameplay. Unsurprisingly, the game garnered multiple Game of the Year awards back in 2019.

Given its success, it comes off as to no surprise that a sequel in A Plague Tale: Requiem is coming in 2022.

A Plague Tale: Innocence Next-gen Version Is Coming In July

The next A Plague Tale game was one of the dozens of games that were announced and confirmed during the Xbox-Bethesda joint game showcase at E3 2021 and that would be launching on the Xbox Game Pass. For those who missed out on the first A Plague ale game, a next-gen remaster is coming in July. A Plague Tale: Innocence Coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X A Plague Tale: Innocence had a gripping horror storyline with excellent stealth mechanics and clever puzzle gameplay.

After selling over 1 million copies of A Plague Tale: Innocence as of July 2020, Focus Home Interactive and Asobo Studio will be re-releasing the game for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

According to Asobo, the next-gen version of A Plague Tale: Innocence is scheduled to release on July 6. It will boast numerous features that are set to take the cinematic-heavy gameplay experience to the next level. This includes letting the game run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second with 3D audio, among others.

More importantly, the next-gen version of the first A Plague Tale game will be available for free for those who already own the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
