A new PlayStation 5 model is reportedly in development at Sony and it will have two key improvements over the previous variants.

The PS5 is just three years old at this point and there have been many rumors regarding a PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro model. The previous leaks suggest that the PS5 Prois coming sometime in 2024 while the PS5 Slim may arrive as early as this coming September.

Now, a new source claims that the new PS5 is codenamed Project Trinity and reportedly features a 5nm APU as part of the revision to the CFI-1300 series console. In comparison, the original PS5 is equipped with a 7nm APU. The new APU will reportedly be a considerable upgrade in terms of efficiency.

According to the rumor from Zuby_Tech, the new console variant will not have a Liquid Metal cooling solution either. The significant uplift in efficiency allows engineers to forgo the cooling system.
