In September, PlayStation showed off its latest collection of covers and controllers for the PlayStation 5 in its latest State of Play event. The collection has three sets of bold and fanciful colors with metallic finishes and includes console covers and DualSense controllers. Sony named it the Deep Earth Collection and it made an instant impression.
Now, the collection is finally available on preorder. Starting on Wednesday, October 4, PlayStation 5 owners who want the collection can pay for the set they want, whether it's the Volcanic Red, Sterling Silver, or Cobalt Blue set, ahead of launch later this year.
The Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue sets will launch on November 3, while the Sterling Silver will arrive on January 26, 2024.
If you're thinking: do the new controllers have different features from the standard PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers? The answer is that they don't. The only difference between both sets is their appearance.
Sony will sell the cover plate and the controllers separately. We think this is a great idea as it will allow gamers to mix and match different color sets and have fun with the collection. Imagine buying a Volcanic Red console cover set and a Cobalt Blue controller set.
