Xbox will be joining the “biggest ever” Tokyo Game Show later this year

Nintendo, Sony, Capcom, Sega, Square Enix, and Capcom are just some of the gaming companies participating in the annual expo.

Xbox is part of the exhibitors list for this year's event.

This year’s Tokyo Game Show is being billed as one of the “largest ever ” in the history of the annual event, and for a good reason – several names have been confirmed for the event, including Xbox.

It’s no secret that Xbox wants to increase its presence in the Japanese gaming market, especially since Microsoft’s console has historically lagged behind rivals Nintendo and Sony in the country. This, among other things, will go a long way in helping it catch up if only ever so slightly.

Xbox will use this opportunity to showcase its upcoming titles as it joins a crowded list of exhibitors for this year’s event. The laundry list of confirmed companies joining the TGS includes Bandai Namo, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, Konami, Level 5, HoyoVerse, Square Enix, Sega/Atlus, Arc System Works, Playism, Kemco, Google Play, and many more.

Xbox rival Sony will be present in the indie area of the event while Nintendo will have a business meeting at the show. Kojima Productions will also be present but only in the merchandise area of the Tokyo Game Show.

Some of the biggest gaming companies are participating in the Tokyo Game Show.

According to CESA, this year’s event will be the biggest show since the worldwide pandemic forced gaming conventions to reduce the scale of events. It will be the first time in four years that the whole of the Makuhari Messe venue will be occupied by the Tokyo Game Show.

“Despite these restrictions, the venue was filled with exhibitors and game fans who had been waiting for the show to be held for real, and the excitement and excitement returned to Makuhari Messe,” CESA stated. “The high evaluation of the exhibition by exhibitors and visitors alike made us realize once again the high demand and importance of holding a real exhibition under any circumstances. This year, for the first time in four years, the entire Makuhari Messe will be used.”

Age restrictions have been lifted allowing children under 12 to attend the exhibition. International visitors will also be able to attend as Japan lifted its border restrictions last year. Precautions to prevent disease infections will however still be in place during the event.

This year’s event will occupy the entirety of the venue for the first time in four years.

The Tokyo Game Show is scheduled for September 21 until September 24, with a Business Day and a Public Day. Tickets for locals can be purchased starting July 8 while international visitors can book tickets starting July 26.

Xbox is expected to bring its A-game at the Tokyo Game Show. We’re looking forward to seeing the company share information about its upcoming Xbox and PC titles. Xbox may also show some of its third-party titles that are targeted at the Japanese gaming market.

The official program for the Tokyo Game Show will be revealed in late August.
