The World Wrestling Entertainment is looking at a sold-out SummerSlam event at Detroit's Ford Field on August 5 after it has already distributed 97% of available tickets nearly two months before the PLE kicks off.
revealed this impressive presale feat for the event that, to this date, still has no official matches yet.
According to the latest information, roughly 40,231 tickets for SummerSlam have been taken up, leaving only 4,373 of the total 44,604 tickets remaining. Of these, a substantial 2,893 are resale tickets. This means that only 1,480 original tickets are left up for grabs.
WWE's ability to pull such vast crowds is nothing new. Last year's SummerSlam, hosted at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, attracted an audience of over 48,000 fans. The 2023 SummerSlam event is looking to replicate this feat if not surpass it. In any case, this turnout is a sign of yet another successful year for the globally beloved entertainment company, which, earlier this year, enjoyed one of its biggest WrestleMania events year that was followed by a massive merger with the UFC.
