WWE "confirms" opponent for Logan Paul at SummerSlam in August

Now, the stage is set for a feud between the two that will culminate at SummerSlam on August 5.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, the spot "was supposed to be this viral thing" and they'll use the succeeding episodes of Monday Night RAW to build up hype for the match.

Paul, who re-entered the WWE ring at Money in the Bank, was one of the odds-on favorites. Yet, his botched Spanish Fly maneuver with Ricochet not only caused him a nasty fall but also required WWE to recalibrate its plans for the upcoming SummerSlam.

Contrary to the earlier speculation of a feud with LA Knight, Paul now seems to be headed for a clash with Ricochet at SummerSlam, as suggested by the backstage altercation footage aired on Raw. True to his characteristic bravado, Ricochet openly challenged Paul for a face-to-face encounter on the upcoming RAW episode, making no bones about his preference for a real showdown over a keyboard duel.

The high-flying duo has already given the WWE Universe a taste of their collective dynamism, so it'll be interesting to see what will happen when these two athletic marvels go head-to-head for a full match.
