Ricochet and Logan Paul went viral earlier this year at the Royal Rumble with a particular high-flying maneuver. A little over half a year later, the WWE wanted to use a similar move to set the stage for a full-blown feud between the two high-flyers. However, this didn’t go smoothly and the WWE was forced to correct its course by staging a backstage brawl between the two post-match.
- Logan Paul is set to face Ricochet at SummerSlam.
- The feud was set up after a botched move at Money in the Bank.
- Paul’s WWE career has been marked by resilience and determination.
- The match promises to be a high-octane affair.
- Paul’s dreams of becoming a WWE champion remain unrealized.
Now, the stage is set for a feud between the two that will culminate at SummerSlam on August 5.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, the spot “was supposed to be this viral thing” and they’ll use the succeeding episodes of Monday Night RAW to build up hype for the match.
Paul, who re-entered the WWE ring at Money in the Bank, was one of the odds-on favorites. Yet, his botched Spanish Fly maneuver with Ricochet not only caused him a nasty fall but also required WWE to recalibrate its plans for the upcoming SummerSlam.
Contrary to the earlier speculation of a feud with LA Knight, Paul now seems to be headed for a clash with Ricochet at SummerSlam, as suggested by the backstage altercation footage aired on Raw. True to his characteristic bravado, Ricochet openly challenged Paul for a face-to-face encounter on the upcoming RAW episode, making no bones about his preference for a real showdown over a keyboard duel.
The high-flying duo has already given the WWE Universe a taste of their collective dynamism, so it’ll be interesting to see what will happen when these two athletic marvels go head-to-head for a full match.
Logan Paul’s foray into wrestling has been marked by an unmissable resilience and determination. From impressing the squared circle in matches against The Miz, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, to braving the high spots at the Money in the Bank, Paul’s career trajectory has been a testament to his fearlessness.
His impending match with Ricochet, if it materializes, promises to be a high-octane affair, brimming with hard-hitting, high-flying offense. This clash at the Biggest Party of the Summer has the potential to be one of the highlights of the event – huge praise considering that Roman Reigns and Jey Uso are expected to go at it with Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar III also planned for the event as well.
Unfortunately, this feud doesn’t put Logan Paul a step closer to realizing his dreams of becoming a WWE champion. Then again, who knows? Maybe he’s next in line to have a go at Seth Rollins after he takes care of business against his current opponents, The Judgment Day. Although something tells us that Señor Money in the Bank will break the current streak of lackluster cash-ins, ironically, against someone who helped set the golden standard.
