Deadpool 3 may have been delayed but there sure is a lot of noise being generated by the film. The most recent rumor surrounding the movie is the involvement of one of the biggest names in the music industry.
There has been a lot of speculation as to Taylor Swift’s participation in Deadpool 3. Most recently there are rumors that Swift may play a rather obscure X-Men member named Dazzler in the upcoming threequel. The young mutant made a short appearance in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, providing an incredible light display at a campfire party.
Vanilla Sky and Jerry Maguire director Cameron Crowe also expressed interest in directing a movie for Dazzler when Kevin Feige said last year that the X-Men are close to being part of the MCU. However, Crowe picked singer Dua Lipa for the role instead of Swift.
Given Swift’s recent success in her ongoing Eras Tour and concert movie, it’s understandable that fans want to see her in a Marvel movie. There are also rumors continually fueling the speculation about her participation in Deadpool 3. Most recently, reliable Marvel insider MyTimeToShineHello revealed that Swift will be a part of the movie but not as Dazzler, and will instead have a cameo as herself.

There has already been discussion about how long Swift will be shown in the movie and if it will be related to the Eras Tour concert on the Marvel Studios Spoilers subreddit. Fans speculate that the singer may be part of Deadpool because of her close ties with Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively. The actress was recently spotted with the cast of Deadpool 3 while attending a Kansas City Chiefs football game.
Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy has been drawn into the Taylor Swift cameo discussion. Levy was recently asked about Swift’s involvement in the movie and the role of Dazzler during an interview with The Wrap. The director said that Swifties would have to wait for the movie to come out.
“They sure are loud,” Levy said of Swift fans. “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”
Levy’s “no comment” will surely add more fuel to the ongoing discussion about Swift’s part in Deadpool 3. Many will interpret the director’s response as a positive sign that Swift will be in the movie. Marvel cast and crew typically leave things ambiguous to increase chatter about MCU films.
So, is there a possibility that Taylor Swift would be part of the MCU at some point? Marvel would be amiss if it didn’t consider adding one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry in a movie. But will the singer be in Deadpool 3? Perhaps not. Given her ties to Reynolds, it will be too obvious for her to appear in the movie.
But as Levy said, we’ll just have to wait and find out when Deadpool 3 arrives in theaters next year. The film still doesn’t have a release date as the movie has reportedly been delayed by the ongoing Actors’ strike.
