The white Xbox Elite Series 2 controller might come out next month

At this point, it's hard to deny the evidence that the long-rumored white version of Xbox's professional controller is coming out soon.

According to Microsoft, the Elite Series 2 took the company four years to develop.

“The world’s most advanced controller to date” is what Microsoft used to describe the Elite Series 2 when it first arrived in 2019.

Three years later, the Elite Series 2 might finally be getting a white version. If we were to speculate, this might be Microsoft’s response to the release of the DualSense Edge, which is going to be available in a sleek black-and-white color combination once it hits store shelves whenever.

The Elite Series 2 has been more of a mythical creature than anything else. Microsoft has never actually confirmed its existence. However, there’ve been crumbs of evidence in recent months like that time someone posted a photo of it online as well as a video.

But, now, we might just have our hands on the best proof – a listing from Amazon Mexico. Unfortunately, the listing is no longer available. Of course, since this is the internet, Windows Central got a chance to snap photo of the listing in question before it went away.

Phil Spencer has confirmed that an Elite Series 3 is in the cards but it won't be coming out anytime soon.

The Elite Series 2 is easily one of the best controllers on the market. In addition to the fan-favorite Xbox shape, the Elite Series 2 features interchangeable thumbstick and paddle shapes as well as a dedicated button for switching profiles on the fly. You can also configure the controls on the Elite Series 2 using the Xbox Accessories app, which includes everything from button mapping to voice commands. Finally, the Elite Series 2 is the first Xbox controller with an internal rechargeable battery that boasts up to 40 hours of intensive use.

If we believe the leaked release date for the white Elite Series 2 controller, it’s best to keep a close eye on the Xbox website. Microsoft usually announces new Xbox controller colors via a blog post.

Speaking of Xbox, Phil Spencer confirmed that the price of the Xbox Series S/X won’t go up anytime soon. However, Spencer revealed that Microsoft is expecting the Xbox Series S/X to run into supply issues well into the holiday season.
