Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are just a few months away, and players are confused about the transfer status of in-game items such as weapon blueprints and Operators. Players are questioning whether or not the items will carry over to the new Warzone 2.
Since the progression of the current Warzone is shared across Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard, all the in-game items from these titles are usable in Warzone. This has enabled players to develop various weapon loadout types and metas.
Unfortunately, Warzone 2 is a completely new game developed using a brand new engine "built from the ground up." Warzone 2 leverages the new engine Modern Warfare 2 is built on, similar to how Warzone was developed using the same engine as Modern Warfare 2019.
In a blog post, Activision confirmed that "Warzone 2 will feature a new Modern Warfare 2 content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories." None of the current items will be transferred to the new Warzone 2.

The good news is that the current Warzone will continue to operate as a standalone game with its support from the developers. But we all know the player base will shrink once the highly anticipated Warzone 2 comes out. It is still good to know that those who decide to stay on the OG Warzone will still be able to continue playing rather than being forced to upgrade to Warzone 2.
