It looks like The Game has been played and is no longer the King of Kings.
The arrival of Triple H last year following the exit of Vince McMahon amidst sexual harassment allegations was a celebrated move. Unfortunately, earlier this year, the elder McMahon successfully muscled his way back into the WWE. Then, following the merger between the UFC and the WWE, McMahon became the second-most-powerful person in the newly-confirmed company, just behind Ari Emanuel.
Now, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that McMahon has exercised his new power to become the "No. 1" decision-maker in the WWE. Furthermore, Meltzer adds that McMahon is now powerful enough to "overrule" anything that Triple H books should he see fit.
McMahon refuted the accusations that he wants his former post back in his return to the WWE earlier this year. According to the long-time WWE Creative Head, all he wanted to do was to help facilitate the sale of the WWE. But, even after he had achieved his goal, McMahon is poised to remain a dominating presence in the WWE.
