For Some Reason, Until Dawn Is Getting a PC Port After 9 Years

The rumor comes after Sony confirmed that it's working on a live-action adaptation of Supermassive Games' hit 2015 horror game.

There’s a sense of confusion amongst the group of gamers that played Until Dawn, by Supermassive Games, back in 2015 and probably haven’t thought much about it since.

After years of floating around as a decent interactive horror title that’s exclusive to the PlayStation 4, Sony confirmed that it’s working on a live-action adaptation. Not long after, one of the more prominent leakers of anything related to Sony has revealed that Until Dawn is headed to the PC.

The news of the PC port is a surprise seeing that Until Dawn isn’t even one of the best-selling games on PlayStation 4.

As per billbil-kun, Sony will announce Until Dawn’s re-release on PlayStation 5 and PC “within 15 days”. They claim Sony has worked on this enhanced version for “at least a year.”

Unfortunately, billbil-kun couldn’t confirm what kind of improvements are coming to these newer versions. However, we can assume that it will come with unlocked frame rates, higher resolutions, and better textures, among others, on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Perhaps Sony’s revival of Until Dawn is part of its overall strategy of porting its older games to PlayStation 5 and PC. If this is true, then we’re definitely hoping that Killzone: Shadow Fall and The Order 1886 get some love. Both of these games deserve to be revisited following their valid criticisms outside of their still-amazing visuals.

Interest in any information about Sony’s upcoming plans has been elevated for weeks after Xbox hosted its showcase last week. Now that Xbox has played its cards, revealing the release dates for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Sony is expected to respond in kind.

Here's an idea: re-release older PS4 titles on PS5 and make them "free" on PS Plus.

Sony recently released The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PlayStation 5, which is a cheap upgrade for existing owners on PlayStation 4.
