We’ve reported on the arrival of Ubisoft+ on Xbox platforms at least three times over the past two years, but now it appears that it’s finally happening.
According to a popular Ubisoft leaker, Ubisoft+ is coming to Xbox next month.
Keep in mind that this is the same user who leaked Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora ahead of its presumed official release date reveal at the June Ubisoft Forward Showcase.
With that said, it’s curious that Ubisoft+ is still coming to the Xbox, even though Ubisoft has mentioned in the past that this will never happen.
For what it’s worth, the launch lineup of Ubisoft+ on the Xbox is impressive, to say the least, which includes a vast majority of the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises, among others. Also, while Ubisoft+ might never come to the Xbox platform, we can’t rule out a partnership between Ubisoft and Xbox similar to something like the Ubisoft Plus Classics for the Xbox Game Pass.
Then again, the majority of Ubisoft’s notable games are already on the Game Pass.
Now that the Google Stadia is no longer, Ubisoft+ is currently available exclusively on the PC for $14.99.
Ultimately, Ubisoft is the one who’s on the losing side here if it doesn’t bring Ubisoft+ to the PlayStation and Xbox. It’s the consensus among gamers that Ubisoft+ is one of the most expensive subscription services on the market and the library isn’t worth the premium price. Not to mention, Ubisoft games go on sale often. Also, as we’ve mentioned, most Ubisoft games come to the Game Pass close to their launch or even at launch.
This confusing stance on whether to bring Ubisoft+ to consoles or not is representative of the tumultuous decision-making process behind the ongoing struggle of Ubisoft over the past few years.
