Despite the frequent rumors about him already resigning for three more projects, Tom Holland's status as Spider-Man is still unclear. After many months of speculation, the actor finally updated fans about the upcoming movie.

During a press conference with the Critics Choice Association, the actor shared the conditions for his return in Spider-Man 4. The movie has been rumored to be in development for a while now but Marvel hasn't officially placed the movie in its release schedule.

"All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character," Holland shared. "Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy."

Holland revealed that he is engaging actively in conversations for the next installment.

Holland's sentiments are understandable as Spider-Man: No Way Home was a record-breaking movie and would have been the perfect ending to the trilogy. The actor just wants to protect his and Spider-Man's legacy by not rushing into a fourth movie. We have learned from Thor: Love and Thunder that a fourth movie isn't a sure-fire hit with audiences.
