The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes takes center stage as the latest main world quest introduced in the Genshin Impact Fontaine 4.2 update. This quest helps you get familiar with the new puzzle mechanics and unlocks additional areas for exploration.
In this quest, you help a new mysterious Melusine named “Pahsvi” clean up the purple filth by destroying the root-consuming tumor deep underground. To do that, you need to find three keys to unlock a hidden entrance below the fountain at Marcotte Station. In this article we tell and how you how to complete everything.
The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes Quest
The quest is automatically available for you on the map at the Marcotte Station fountain.
Interact with the carved stone tablet to begin the quest.
Foggy Forest Path (Key 1)
First, make your way to the Foggy Forest Path and you will find a mysterious altar at the marked location.
Interact with it and a cutscene will play after which you can start solving the puzzles.
You need to solve three puzzles and clear the purple filth in order for this Altar to be “purified” and give you a teardrop key.
Puzzle 1
The first puzzle is directly to the North of the mysterious altar. At this location, you need to activate all three pillars at the same time.
Interact with the blue orb on top of the big pillar overlooking the rest of the small altars with glowing symbols on them. Collecting the blue orb gives you the new Xenochromatic Ball Octopus power.
When equipped with this power, hold down your skill button while aiming at the smaller purple tumor.
Once the bigger tumor is vulnerable, attack it with the power and destroy it to cleanse the area.
Once you’ve destroyed the tumor, two water bubbles will spawn.
Push one of the bubbles into the other to form a larger bubble, covering a larger area of effect.
You can only see the radius when you use your Octopus power on the bubble once.
When you’re done and satisfied, hit it to destroy it and send an energy pulse to these small altars, activating them and completing this puzzle.
That’s your first puzzle down. You need to do two more puzzles. Each will have a slightly different puzzle arrangement but same concept.
Puzzle 2
From the current puzzle, look back (facing West) and run in that direction.
This time, there is only one small tumor.
After you destroy the tumor, some hydro slimes will spawn.
First, push the bubble that rests near the bigger pillar.
Then push the bubble (by the waterfall) inside the radius of the first bubble.
When in place, destroy the bubble by the waterfall, activating the small altar by the waterfall and then the small altars farthest away.
Puzzle 3
The third and final puzzle is located Southeast of the mysterious altar.
It’s the same drill, you grab the blue orb to get the Ball Octopus power and clear the tumors.
After that, position the bubbles in a way that covers all small altars. Position the first bubble in between small altars one and two.
Then, push the second bubble inside the radius of the first while ensuring it is also covering the small altar with three glowing symbols.
When done, break the first bubble to send the energy pulse to all three small altars.
Once you’ve completed all three puzzles, you can return to the mysterious altar and interact with it to pick up the first teardrop key.
You will also be introduced to a Melusine named Pahsvi.
And this is how your quest starts. Now, you need to find two more keys before we can return back to the fountain at Marcotte Station.
Wilting Weeping Willow (Key 2)
You can find the next key at the Weeping Willow of the Lake. Don’t worry as these areas are marked as the main quest in your quest log and on the map.
When you get to the location, get inside the water and dive underwater. You will find the mysterious altar at the bottom of the water.
Go slightly north of the altar and you will see a Xenochromatic Hunter’s Ray.
Get its power and release the Xenochromatic Ballk Octopus directly above the mysterious altar.
Just like earlier, grab the Ball Octopus to smash the little tumor and take out the shield on the big one.
Once cleared, a bubble will spawn.
Destroy the bubble to activate all three small altars.
Furious Mouth of the Spring (Key 3)
The final key can be found at Loch Urania. This is the place with a mysterious water sprout in the middle that has a strong wind that pushes you away.
Luckily, it is ineffective when you’re underwater.
You will find two to three purple tumors that will shoot damaging projectiles at you.
Once you’re hit, release the skill button while aiming at one of the purple tumors to destroy it.
Destroy all three in the same way to clear the filth and continue going north. You will find a small water current teleporter.
You will find one more purple tumor on the opposite side.
Once you clean the area of the purple filth, the water sprout outside will also calm down, and the wind that was originally pushing you away will also go away.
Go back to where the water current teleporter originally pushed you through. You will find a mysterious altar.
Interact with the altar and you will return to the surface where you will need to fight the Vishap.
Within the Depths of Erinnyes
Return to the fountain at Marcotte Station and place the three keys in all three lion statues around the fountain to open the secret entrance.
Jump down and continue to swim until through the passage until you come out of the other side.
You will also find a hidden teleport waypoint once you come out of the water.
Once you reach the root, you will find many enemies and a lot of filth here.
You will also find some Riftwolves.
Once you’ve taken the riftwolves out, grab the blue orb from any one of the many small pillars scattered around to get the Ball Octopus power.
Use the skill on the smaller tumors to break the shield of the bigger root-consuming tumor.
Once the shield of the root-consuming tumor is down, deal as much damage to it as possible before the shield comes back up.
After a small cutscene, a lot more smaller tumors will spawn. However, Pahsiv will also boost your skill, increasing the current fire rate and damage.
Continue doing the same until you’ve destroyed the root-consuming tumor.
At the end, you will get a cutscene before one final fight against the Rifthounds and Riftwolves.
Once you’ve eliminated all the Rifthounds, you will get another cutscene which will raise the water level inside this cave.
Once you’re out, the weeping willow area will be rejuvenated and cleansed.
