“The Roaming Abode” is a new world quest added in Genshin Impact 4.4 with the release of the new area, “Chenyu Vale”. In this guide, we walk you through everything from starting the quest to completing it.
Unlock Requirement
This world quest is a direct sequel to the “Threefold Expectations” world quest. So, ensure you’ve completed Threefold Expectations if you don’t see this quest in your game.
All the world quests in Chenyu Vale have one major pre-requirement, which is the main world quest, “Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade.” Make sure you’ve completed that quest first. Otherwise, even Threefold Expectations won’t show up for you.
To unlock the prequel and this quest, you only need to complete the first sub-quest of Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade called “Qiaoying of the Sacred Mountain.” However, we recommend you complete the entire quest chain to ensure the availability of all the future world quests.
Quest Start
You can start this quest by speaking with Xiangjun at the beach west of the “Teatree Slopes” teleport waypoint. Xiangjun will be on a bamboo raft in the water. However, if you don’t see her there, you need to fast forward your in-game time to night time. The quest is only available at night time.
We set our time to around 23:58, and the quest showed up. You can set your time to anything past 20:00.
Look for Clues
Once you’ve spoken to Xiangjun, you must look for clues, as she indicates. Go to the quest marker and interact with the bag hanging on a tent.
After interacting with the bag, you need to search for a “path.” Simply, descend down the cliff and follow the quest marker. You can also use the “Yaodie Valley” teleport waypoint to get closer to the quest marker. You will come across a hilichurl camp blocking a closed off entrance to a cave.
Eliminate the hilichurls (or don’t) to make your lives easier. You will find a Pyro Slime barrel next to the blocked cave entrance. Use a bow character to destroy the Pyro Slime barrel to cause an explosion and break open the entrance.
Examine the Cavern
Enter the cave, and when you get to the big open area of the cave, you need to find another clue. Follow the quest marker to reach some more notes with a bag. Interact with the notes to continue with the quest.
Mt. Xuanlian Cave
Next, follow the quest marker to the cave near Mt. Xuanlian. The entrance to the cave will be barred off with an adeptal energy. It is quite easy to remove the barrier. You will notice a Sacred Simulacrum statue on one of the two stone platforms outside the cave. Leave the statue on the stone platform, and you stand on the other one. Standing on the stone platform will activate it, removing the green barrier. Thus allowing you to enter the cave.
Enter the cave, and you will get another cutscene. After the cutscene, interact with the water to “draw water” and obtain the “blessed waters.”
Return to Qiaoying Village
Return to “Qiaoying Village” and talk to Uncle Luo (yes, the same Uncle Luo from the Threefold Expectations world quest) to get more information and continue this world quest.
Once the dialogue ends, you will be asked to go to the herb gatherer’s house, located near the northernmost border of the Qiaoying Village as indicated by the quest marker. Go to the back of the house, water the divine herb and talk to Uncle Luo to complete this world quest.

You will get the following as rewards for the completion of this world quest:

- x4 Mystic Enhancement Ore
You will also get an achievement called “Xiangjun’s Dreams.”
