It's hard to believe that Nicolas Cage hasn't starred in a Western film throughout his long and illustrious career. Now, that travesty will officially come to an end when Wild West hits theaters sometime during Q4, later this year. According to Deadline, Saban Films has snapped up the rights to distribute Brett Donowho's The Old Way in North America and other territories.

, The Old Way will see Cage star as a retired gunslinger, Colton Briggs. After a life of crime, Briggs is living his life in peace alongside his wife and daughter. Unfortunately, his quiet life was disturbed after outlaws decide to murder his wife in cold blood. Briggs will now have to take up arms once again as he tracks down his wife's murderers and take revenge. However, doing so is much easier said than done.

After settling down, Briggs became a father to a young girl, who is portrayed by Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
