As the Writers' strike ends, Marvel is reportedly preparing to hear pitches for the upcoming X-Men debut in the MCU. However, it may not include the most popular character from the mutant team.
According to a new rumor from reliable insider CanWeGetSomeToast, Logan will not be part of the X-Men reboot. The leaker suggests that Marvel is pushing X-Men content on all mediums to hype up the return of the much-loved mutant team to the big screen.
The current idea to reboot the X-Men in the MCU does NOT feature Wolverine on the team," CanWeGetSomeToast tweeted. "There's a reason why Marvel is starting to push the X-Men so hard across all mediums, and will continue to push them until they're on the big screen."
The insider revealed that Marvel Studios may be following the canon debut of the X-Men from the comics. The user adds that the team was formed before the Wolverine and the MCU just recently added Adamantium as a substance in the universe. This means that Wolverine will join the team later on, perhaps in a subsequent movie.
"The Weapon X program has to be formed before Wolverine joins the team, and Adamantium JUST appeared in the MCU," the insider shared. "It honestly might be a while before Logan joins up with the X-Men."
