Fans of The Last of Us titles will recognize a familiar voice in the preview clip for Episode 8 of HBO's The Last of Us. Joel Miller's voice actor, Troy Baker, makes his live-action debut in the series' penultimate episode as James.

It appears that The Last of Us Episode 8 will pick up exactly following the events of Episode 7. We can see that Joel is still in recovery following the grave injuries he sustained in Episode 6, which forced Ellie to look after her pseudo-father and play as the protector for an entire episode.

Unfortunately, things go from bad to worse for Ellie in Episode 8. After spending an entire episode giving us a brief glimpse of Ellie's life before meeting up with Joel, the show puts Ellie in the fight of her life as James and the other settlers are out to take her down.

As has been the case for most of the season, Episode 8 will add certain elements adapted from the first game. Instead of straight up having Ellie defend herself from a group of cannibalistic settlers, the show expands on the roles of others. To be a lot more specific, the trailer sees the settler's leader, David, try to recruit Ellie, although the rebellious teenager is having none of it.
