. Or, at least, that was what Ubisoft had originally planned. Unfortunately, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment had a few hiccups during the deployment of the new season which brings a ton of new content to the looter shooter.
The servers for The Division 2 went offline for maintenance on June 8. Ubisoft initially announced an estimated downtime of three hours to deploy the new update. However, it took a while longer as the development team encountered issues affecting save game files.
The maintenance has been extended for an additional 6 hours due to an unexpected issue affecting the save game files," the official The Division 2 account tweeted. "Our team is actively working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we'll keep you updated on the progress."
Ubisoft did finally announce the completion of the server maintenance today. The servers went online around 26 hours after being taken offline. The studio is making up for the delay with an upcoming global event.
"Good morning, Agents! We are happy to announce that the game will be back online at 11:00 AM CEST, 5:00 AM EDT, 2:00 AM PDT," Ubisoft tweeted. "To make up for losing one day of the double XP, an additional Golden Bullet GE will be added to the Seasonal schedule. Thank you for your patience!"
