It's hard to believe that The Division 2 is in its fifth year already. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are celebrating this big milestone as the popular third-person looter shooter turns a half-decade old.

Massive Entertainment, the studio behind The Division series, announced on Twitter that 20 million agents (players) have been activated since the game was launched in 2019. This is a huge milestone for the looter shooter and should bode well for the future of the franchise.

"20 million Agents have been activated!" Massive tweeted. "Thank you for your passion and support. The journey continues on June 8, when we kick off Year 5 Season 1: Broken Wings."

Massive recently hosted The Division Day to discuss the game's roadmap for Year 5. During the event, the upcoming spin-offs The Division Heartland and Resurgence were also featured, further cementing the series as one of Ubisoft's core titles for the foreseeable future.

The Year 5 content for The Division 2 kicks off with Season 1: Broken Wings. The newest chapter in the long-running live service game will be adding a new Manhunt target named Mari Singh. The main difference with previous manhunts is that the aim for the first season is to rescue people that have been held hostage by Black Tusk.
