Apparently, Team Cherry planned to release Hollow Knight: Silksong in the first half of the year. The bad news is that plans have changed.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was part of last year's Xbox and Bethesda showcase, which "confirmed" that it would be out during the first half of the year. But, much like Starfield and Forza Motorsport, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released at a later date instead.

According to a recent announcement by the developers, Hollow Knight: Silksong wants "to take the time to make the game as good as we can," while also promising to reveal more details about the game closer to its final launch date.

Team Cherry is one of the poster children for indie studios that found mainstream success. The studio's debut title, Hollow Knight, earned critical acclaim almost immediately after it came out and it has since gotten better over time due to updates, expansion packs, and more. The challenging gameplay made fans crave for more, which is why Team Cherry is working on a sequel that will feature one of the first game's side characters, Hornet, with a new world to explore, more enemies to conquer, and mysteries to unravel.
