Team Cherry delays Hollow Knight: Silksong to a later date

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been delayed due to its expanded scope, promising a rewarding experience for fans upon its eventual release.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is going to have to meet some pretty high expectations whenever it's out.

Apparently, Team Cherry planned to release Hollow Knight: Silksong in the first half of the year. The bad news is that plans have changed.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was part of last year’s Xbox and Bethesda showcase, which “confirmed” that it would be out during the first half of the year. But, much like Starfield and Forza Motorsport, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released at a later date instead.

According to a recent announcement by the developers, Hollow Knight: Silksong wants “to take the time to make the game as good as we can,” while also promising to reveal more details about the game closer to its final launch date.

We hope Team Cherry will support Hollow Knight: Silksong as extensively as it did Hollow Knight.

Team Cherry is one of the poster children for indie studios that found mainstream success. The studio’s debut title, Hollow Knight, earned critical acclaim almost immediately after it came out and it has since gotten better over time due to updates, expansion packs, and more. The challenging gameplay made fans crave for more, which is why Team Cherry is working on a sequel that will feature one of the first game’s side characters, Hornet, with a new world to explore, more enemies to conquer, and mysteries to unravel.

Hollow Knight: Silksong initially started life as post-launch content for the original game before it became too massive and warranted a separate release.

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s growing scope suggests it will be as epic as the first game.

We hope Team Cherry isn’t lying and the delay gives fans a worthy follow-up to one of the previous generation’s best indie games.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is still going to be on Game Pass when it hits the store shelves.

The best-case scenario is the delay proves Team Cherry’s dedication to quality and the refusal to rush the project results in one of this generation’s best games. Although the wait will be longer, the eventual experience promises to be a lot more rewarding.

In the meantime, Hollow Knight is still plenty enjoyable to play on all major platforms. If you haven’t gotten around to the game yet, now’s the perfect time. You don’t even need an expensive PC to enjoy it.
