Despite having the outer lines for the third installment of the franchise mapped out during the production of the threequel, filming on Kingsman 3 has still not started. With Disney's acquisition of Fox and the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on the world, the project never got off on the right foot.
But, now Taron Egerton, who starred as Gary "Eggsy" Unwin in the previous two installments of the Kingsman franchise, has shed some light on the state of the project.
Egerton recently spoke to Radio Times at the Newport Beach Film Festival in the UK, and when asked about his potential return to the series, he offered this cautiously optimistic update:
Do you know what, I would. I think I would if I felt that it had a really great story and a great arc for him. If we go back and visit Eggsy, which might happen apparently, I think I want to know what being in that world for 10 years does to your head and I want to see him change. What is it like to be a 35-year-old Kingsman, because I'm not the kid anymore? So, there we are."
