For its latest announcement, Square Enix dug deep into its treasure trove of classic titles.

According to Square Enix, a re-remake of the cult favorite classic strategy RPG game, Tactics Ogre, is coming out later this year. The new version, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, will feature a lot of improvements like a new leveling system, voiceover work, and far more detailed art than ever before. Of course, since we're talking about a classic game here, fans couldn't help but express their frustration that Square Enix is using high-definition sprites for the remake - go figure.

Bashing entitled fans aside, Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a remake of 2010's Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together for the PlayStation Portable, which itself was a remake of 1995's Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn Is Coming To Modern Platforms And The Pc

Regardless of the version though, the story is still the same: you'll follow the story of and play as Denam as you fight the different warring factions of the once-peaceful nation of the Valerian Isles. Tactics Ogre is a deeply philosophical game, even for JRPG standards. This is probably why the tactics RPG title has stood the test of time. But, since this is a remake for modern consoles, Square Enix is adding several niceties to make Reborn appeal better to today's audiences like high-definition art and textures.
