Capcom's Street Fighter video game series is one of the largest video game franchises ever, with over 50 million units sold since the first game was released in 1987. The franchise's latest installment, Street Fighter 6, was released last month and, in true version, has proven highly popular with gamers.

On Friday, July 7, Capcom announced that the game has now sold over 2 million copies barely a month after its debut. The studio revealed this via the official Street Fighter account on Twitter with the tweet, "We're proud to announce that #StreetFighter6 has sold over 2 million copies!

This milestone is hardly surprising given how well fans received the game when it launched, as well as the rave reviews it garnered.

We even published a report about this last month where we told you about how the game quickly became the best fighting game on Steam with the most concurrent player count, as well as its popularity with critics, many of whom gave it top ratings.

To celebrate the milestone, Capcom promised an unnamed in-game reward for fans. It wrote, "All players will receive a small token of our appreciation in game. Thank you for all your continued support!"
