Star Wars: Republic Commando is finally heading to the PlayStation and Nintendo consoles for the first time. This tactical first-person shooter is an Xbox classic and was also ported to PC shortly after its Xbox debut 16 years ago.

In 2018, Star Wars: Republic Commando was made available on Xbox One through the platform's backward compatibility program. The re-release of the game will become available on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles come April 6, 2021, for a price of $15.

Aspyr, a studio known for porting several prior Star War titles, is handling the PlayStation and Switch ports of this game. Part of its porting portfolio is the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch ports of Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast in 2019, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy in 2020, and Star Wars Episode I: Racer also in 2020. Aspyr promises modernized controls for this Republic Commando port. Unfortunately, this re-release will not include the original's multiplayer aspect.
