It appears that fans will need to postpone their trip to Chernobyl. GSC Game World has confirmed that STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl still isn't ready. Instead of being released on April 28, GSC has pushed the game's release date back to December 8, which is a little over half a year later.
GSC feels delaying STALKER 2 is the right decision
It's been a long time coming for STALKER 2. The game was first announced back in 2010 and was initially set to be released in 2012. Due to a series of unfortunate events, this never happened. The game would lay dormant for years with GSC falling off the map until 2018 when the studio announced that development on the long-awaited STALKER sequel had started. From there, it would take another three years until E3 2021 for anyone to hear more about STALKER 2.
After the initial reveal, fans were already expecting GSC to be ready to drop STALKER 2 on April 28, but this is not the case.
