The renowned Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has now witnessed a triumphant milestone, with total sales surpassing the impressive three million mark, as recently announced by Square Enix.
The rise in sales signifies an impressive addition of a million units since May when the sales figures stood at two million. This immense success of the Pixel Remaster series underscores the lasting appeal and enduring love for the classic entries in the JRPG franchise.
The Pixel Remaster collection boasts of the remastered versions of the first six Final Fantasy titles, from Final Fantasy I all the way through Final Fantasy VI. The series made its initial appearance on platforms such as PC via Steam, iOS, and Android, commencing with Final Fantasy I, II, and III on July 28, 2021. The subsequent titles followed, with Final Fantasy IV releasing on September 8, 2021; Final Fantasy V on November 10, 2021; and Final Fantasy VI making its entry on February 23, 2022. Further extending its reach to the gaming community, all six illustrious titles graced the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19.
However, enthusiasts are left pondering over one particular detail: the distribution of sales across individual games. It would certainly provide insight into the popularity metrics of each game within the series and how the full set, albeit its elevated price point, has fared in the market.
