Fans have been asking for a continuation, or at least remasters, of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise for some time now, and they're in luck - we have known for quite some time that the original game is being remade. The series was once considered one of the flagship franchises for Ubisoft and was well-loved by fans. Ubisoft Toronto is the studio tasked with the (re)development of Splinter Cell.
A new job posting found on the Ubisoft website states that the company is on the lookout for a scriptwriter who will rewrite the story of Splinter Cell for "modern-day audiences." The job posting suggests that the game may have several changes to the story to make it fit the current times.
The same listing indicates that the upcoming game will keep "the spirit and themes of the original game while exploring our characters and the world to make them more authentic and believable." The scriptwriter will join "the Narrative team and help create a cohesive and compelling narrative experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans."
