Everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood webslinger is rumored to get himself into a whole new kind of mess soon. The sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home has been a highly-anticipated project for some time now. While Spider-Man 4 has yet to be officially confirmed, there have been plenty of rumors about its plot and cast – with a new and rather specific one pertaining to the plot.
The most recent rumors indicate that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will be involved in a “street-level” version of Captain America: Civil War. Avengers will reportedly be present in the film but their roles are said to be minor. Ant-Man and Daredevil are the only ones that scoopers have mentioned so far.
“When I say Civil War I mean the layout out but STREET LEVEL,” insider Cryptic4KQual tweeted. “Any major Avengers addition might endup being minor though as of right now it’s unclear to me what roles they’d play, Ant-Man for instance.”

The scooper then replied to a tweet by a fan saying that Peter Parker is already a leader in Spider-Man 4 and will be “very essential to the MCU’s future.” The user adds that future MCU projects will center around Spider-Man.
There were previous rumors that Peter Parker will be taking the reigns as the next leader of the Avengers after Tony Stark’s Iron Man and Steve Rogers’ Captain America. Stark sacrificed himself while Rogers opted not to return to the present during the events of Avengers: Endgame. Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, formerly called Falcon, is the new Captain America while the role of genius inventor is now with Riri Williams aka Ironheart.

With the void in leadership and the Avengers in disarray, Peter Parker may step up to be its next leader alongside Doctor Strange and Thor. It could also be possible for the new Captain America to step into the role of leader but Sam Wilson’s weight in the MCU is yet to be seen.
Additionally, there is also a rumor that Kingpin will be involved in Spider-Man 4. Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus shared that the crime boss will become the mayor of New York in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Kingpin will also decree that vigilantism will be outlawed effectively making Spider-Man and Daredevil targets of bounty hunters.

There has been speculation that Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin will control much of New York in the MCU. Actor Vincent D’Onofrio also said that he wanted his character to take over the Avengers Tower, making his ambitions in the city known to everyone.
With Spider-Man and the rest of the superheroes being targeted by Kingpin and his cohorts, it will be interesting to see how the Civil War plot plays out. The events of the movie may be crucial to the overarching narrative of the Multiverse Saga moving forward. Such a plot should convince Tom Holland to finally return as the web-slinger for his fourth movie.
As with most rumors, we advice caution as nothing official has been revealed by Marvel.
