The PS5 has been out of stock for the better part of the last two years since its release, but things are looking up for the console. As Sony promised, the console's availability and sales over Christmas have increased.

As reported by Famitsu and translated by Gematsu, PS5 was the second-highest-selling console in Japan during the last week of the year from December 19, 2022, to December 25, 2022. The sales for PS5 topped over 59,352 units sold during the stated week, overtaking Switch and Switch Lite. Over 2 million PS5 consoles have been sold in Japan throughout its life thus far.

The following is a list of the top 10 software sales out of the top 30 in the Japanese market, as reported by Famitsu. The figures enclosed in the brackets at the end represent the lifetime sales.
